Reach Your Goals – What’s Your Number?

Reach your goals - whats your number

If you’re interested in growing your business to a new level and reach your goals, you need an answer to this question:

What is your number?

A few weeks ago as was at an event where Laurel Langemeier presented and she asked this question. To be honest, at first, I wasn’t sure where she was going with it.

What she was really asking is – how much do you want to grow your sales from where they are now?

She was asking more specifically, have you narrowed this number down?

For example:

Let’s say your yearly number is $240,000.

That’s $20,000 a month.

$5,000 per week.

$1,000 per working day.

Which looks easier, $240,000 or $1,000?

The act of breaking it down makes the number look and feel smaller.

If you ask me how to generate an extra $240,000, that answer is much harder to give than how to generate an extra $1,000.

What’s so important about having a specific number to aim at? Isn’t the goal of business to earn as much money or generate as many sales as possible?

In the past, I used to think so and I worked hard to create as many sales as possible.

The problem with this approach is that you have no goal to aim for. You have no extra push when you’re close and no feeling of success from reaching your goal.

I’ve found that when my goal is just a little bit more than what I’m doing or have done I work harder for it. I know I can do it. I want to prove it to myself that I can.

If my goal is so big that my mind won’t believe I can reach it, then I’m not going to try my hardest. I may tell others and myself that I’m able to do it and I’m trying. Or the famous, ‘we got this’. But I’m lying to everyone - including myself. In my heart, I know it’s out of my reach.

That’s when breaking the number down to a more manageable goal comes in. It makes it seem more possible.  Before you know it, you’re reaching your goal numbers and wondering why it was such a big deal to begin with.

The one thing you need to be aware of though is that to reach new and bigger goals, you have to do something different than you did in the past. If not, then your results are going to stay the same.

What are you doing differently from last year?

How are you going to reach your larger goals?

I’m going to suggest that you look into adding Facebook marketing into your business efforts.

If you are using Facebook already, are you getting the results you could be from your time and money invested?

If you’re not using Facebook at all, why not? This is 2016 and Facebook has been a mainstream option for years now.

If you want an outside evaluation of your current Facebook efforts I am offering a call with me to look at what you’re currently doing. When we’re done, I’ll give you three or four great ideas that you can use to improve your results.

If you’re not using Facebook now, I can help you develop a starting point. We’ll talk about your business and what you want to achieve. I can point you to some resources to get you going or I can help you implement what we talk about if you think it will be valuable to your business.
