Making Your Facebook Marketing Work For YOU

Can I be painfully honest with you for a moment?

Yes! Facebook does work.

Yes! Many people are getting great (profitable results) from Facebook.

No, you don’t have to use it.

I know that last line is strange to hear from me.

There are many businesses in the world not using Facebook and surviving. Some are even growing.

How do you decide if you are one of those who should use Facebook?

Well, the answer depends on what you’re trying to accomplish. . .

And more importantly, what are your goals?

What are you trying to achieve and why do you want to achieve it?

That is the question we need to answer on every level as we’re designing our business’s plans.

Until you know your goals and where you are trying to go, you can’t decide if you should use Facebook or not, if you should use any online marketing or not, or if you should rely solely on referrals and repeat business or not.

As one of my mentors has drilled into my head over time (actually many years, sometimes I’m a slow learner) what are you trying to do and why is it important to you?

I can’t give you an opinion of what is good or bad or right or wrong as you create your plans until you tell me what you’re trying to accomplish.

Believe it or not, setting your goals and then actually using your goals as a guide to deciding what to do is one of the basic points that most of us miss.

We set goals, might even write them down, and then we put them away somewhere and go out and do what we think is best.

After a few weeks, the list is a distant memory.

We may not even be able to find it.

We go out and chase after the newest shiny object we hear about.

After all, everyone else is too and look at the results that “they” are getting. I’m at least as smart as them so I should be able to do that or better. Right?

Setting your goals and then using them to decide what you should be working on will bring you to your goals faster.

If your goal is to grow and expand your business and you want to reach new people and maintain a relationship with your existing customers in a low-cost manner Facebook can be great.

It takes some effort to develop a plan that works, but it can bring huge rewards’

Knowing that you’re moving towards your goals and that your life will be better when you achieve it gives you fuel for the fire as you’re working through anything that gets in your way.

Have a great day!
