We’ve been talking about your digital presence the last few articles and this is one more step to being found whenever someone is looking for a product or service you sell.
When someone searches for your business by name or category does your website show up in the free search? And are you at the top of page one or listed on some hidden page?
After all, not many people go beyond page one of a Google search.
SEO is the process of making sure your website shows up higher in a Google Search.
While I don’t provide Google Adwords or SEO services in my business, I have reason to know a bit about how Google works.
And from what I’ve been told by several Web design companies social media helps your websites SEO.
There is only so much that you can do on a website and that is about 50% of what it takes to rank higher on Google
The rest of the SEO comes from your Social Media efforts as well as your Google My Business listing which we talked about earlier. Click here if you missed it.
You’ll also see a higher rating if your name, address, and phone number are consistent across the internet. This includes;
- Your Facebook page
- All of your social media platforms
- Your Google My Business site
- All of the various directory sites
We have a tool that verifies all of your data and makes sure it’s the same on your Google My Business Page as well as Facebook and over 60 directory sites across the internet.
Having all of this information consistent will increase how often you show up in Google searches.
Have a great week!
