Happy 4th of July!

4th of July

Summer is in full swing and in the U.S. our mid-summer holiday is here.

This is a time for extended weekends and vacations as well as celebrating our countries independence.

We have had an incredible 242 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence. How many of you remember the 200th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence? It doesn’t seem like that many years ago.

Anyway, this is a time to take it easy. Have fun with your family and friends and recharge your batteries.

I was recently at a class and I was asked if I had a hard time having fun.

It hit me kind of hard. I do like having fun, but I need to let myself unplug before I can do that, and you know how social media and electronics are. When I am on vacation I have my phone with me all the time and check it on most days, “just to make sure”.

This week, I’m going to work on disconnecting from my phone, relaxing, and having some fun.

I’ll limit how many times I check my phone. I know that life will go on, and I’ll be able to keep up by only checking in a couple times per day.

I’ll spend some time with my family and friends. I’m going to kick back, relax, and who knows, maybe this week I may even take an extra day off in addition to the holiday.

Why don’t you give it a try too? See how it feels to unplug for a day or two and recharge your batteries.

My guess is that when I get back to work, I’ll be excited and ready to go.

Let me know how it goes for you.
